Nowadays, fast food has become a great alternative and faster for those of you who are busy with your daily routine, but must still meet the needs of belly you. Fast food has been widely circulated in many countries, including Indonesia. In a short time the restaurant much standing in every region in Indonesia. Fans of the food any time includes all classes, from children, teenagers, adults, and parents. Even so, no denying also that too often consume fast food can have an impact that is not good for your health. In other words, fast food has many disadvantages.

The first reason of disadvantages of fast food that the high levels of sugar and fat in fast food can lead to an increased risk of obesity. It has been shown that those who live close to fast food restaurants have a much higher tendency to be obese. Over the past twenty years, the number of obese children has doubled and the number of obese teens has tripled. As of 2004 it is estimated that nine million children between the ages of 6-18 are obese. A stunning 65 percent of American adults are overweight. This includes 127 million overweight adults, approximately 60 million obese adults and 9 million considered morbidly obese, or more than 100 pounds overweight. The cooking oils and preservatives used to maintain fast food products make it difficult for your body to shed fat, making hard to shed the extra calories even if you attempt to up your activity level.

The second reason is eat fast food on a regular basis can cause health problems. Regularly consuming fast food that is high in sodium and cholesterol can cause damage to the cardiovascular system. Cholesterol can clog the arteries, increasing the risk of having a heart attack or stroke. High levels of sodium from fries, sodas or enriched meat products will increase your blood pressure, which can also increase the risk of heart attack or stroke over time. As your cardiovascular system is weakened it can be difficult to perform physical activities that will allow you to maintain your health.Though it is not as frequently discussed, liver damage is a significant risk associated with consuming fast food. Junk food is often filled with trans-fat, an artificial fat that is used as a stabilizer so premade foods can sit for long periods of time before they are consumed. As your body works to remove this fat from your system it can build up in the liver and cause damage. This is very similar to the damage which is caused by regularly consuming alcohol. If this is not kept in check it can lead to liver failure.

The third reason is the production and selling of fast food puts a significant negative impact on the environment. Excess packaging, excess processing of food, not to mention the chemical waste that occurs, not only from the preservatives for the fake food but also from the factory farms that house the millions of chickens and cows that are fated to this end. This leads to massive amounts of waste, not only from the over-use of paper and plastics in the packaging, but also from the production from the factory farm right to the restaurant. According to the New Community Project, the cost of one hamburger is not just the 99 cents. It is 16 pounds of grain to feed the cow plus 2500 gallons of water. Perhaps the true price of a hamburger should be based upon the impact to the environment and measured in carbon footprints. Perhaps that would reduce the rate at which we are chopping down the rainforests in order to provide grazing land for these hamburger cows.

From three main points above, we can see that there are many disadvantages of fast food. Fast food has become a great alternative and faster for those of you who are busy with your daily routine, but but fast food has many disadvantages like causing obesity from the high levels of sugar and fat in fast food, and also if consumed on a regular basis can cause health problems as well as fast food puts a significant negative impact on the environment from the production and selling of fast food. Therefore, it would be better for us to be able to reduce the consumption of fast food or even stop consumeing it and let's begin to eat food that has a good and balanced nutrition as a four healthy-five perfect food, which consists of rice, side dishes, vegetables, fruits and milk
