National examination is not a something new in our life. As we know, every student that about to go to college have to go through this exam that been held annually on every school. Based on Law on the National Education System (No. 20/2005) that stated national education system is purposed to measure the achievement  of soon to be graduate ability. Actually, national examination is important, but some people doesn’t realize that something wrong with how they should measure someone achievement on education. In this case, someone success is measured based on the score they earn that have surpass certain standard, because of this reason, that’s why national examination have to be eliminate by the government and they have to figure out other way as the new passing standard to graduate.

National examination in Indonesia is something burdening and not fair for the student. In a lot of cases when student that always on top of their classes on the daily basis some of them fail the exam just because of technical mistake. Lots of student feels stressed by this, they already have college and life after high school all planed up even some of them are already have got into their dream college, but the reality turn the other way. There’s a blog about a smart student fails the exam causing the student  to get into Intensive Cardiac-Care Unit (ICCU) and got verdict for having a heart disease. Lots of student turns into victim, not because they’re not smart enough but the national exam system are just so messy they have to re-think about it.

Secondly, the national examination is nothing but a dishonest game between student and teacher. The answer of the national examination questions tend to leak every year, it’s not a new thing to us. There’s a huge numbers of teacher giving away the key answer to their student, because the way they think that if the student succeed on the exam, the teacher feels it’s their job to make them pass the exam without thinking about the morality behind the success. It’s cheating and it’s never a success. School also got their roles on this, they are all about good reputation if 100% of their student can pass the exam. Lots of this people are just into the success things and abandon the precious process of earning it.

Thirdly, teaching student to lie and cheat will lead them to worse problems. All they want is instant success. They also mostly lead to corruption, thinking corruption is okay because they used to be lying. And it’s not a fair thing that you have to go to high school for 3 years only to get measured by three days exam.

From three main points above, we can see that there are many negative effect of  national examination. While it is true that  this offer a chance to gain qualifications that are stepping stones to further progress, national examination have negative impact on student. The fact that lots of student feels stressed by this exam, the key answer of the national examination questions tend to leak every year, and teacher choose to teach their student to lie and cheat on this exam. Therefore, it is better to eliminate the national exam and all decisions passed or not submitted to the school that in fact has seen the development of students for three year.
