Venezuela news these days has
been strolling on an issue about how rain doesn’t come for past months and how
it affects the power crisis. Regarding to this situation, president of
Venezuela Nicolas Maduro decided that it is the best for this situation to cut
the electricity down to only 9 hours/day and making Friday as holiday. The city
has been suffer more than just lack of water supply but also they have to get
used to daily black out.
Believing this act would do
more good to help the power crisis , these 3 days weekend holiday would cut
electricity off from public sector such as school, work and other public
facilities and increase the power supply to 20%. From saving electricity to
preserve water supply, President Maduro stated that this efforts saved more
than 22 centimeter water at the local dam which eventually supplies 75%
electricity consumed in capital city Carnacas.
Most of pupils and students
react positively to this decision. They believe in these 3 days off could do
some outdoor activity such as picnic, out bond, long trip and vacation. More
of this time they use to get along with families and friends where they
used to have no time to see when having school or working. In advantage of not
having electricity for few hours, quality time and conversation they have
increase significantly while they are away from their gadget.
While on public sector, work
would not be available on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday unless for
fundamental and necessary task. While this could be very refreshing to
workers from their day to night work, it’s also perceived enough days to take
more rest and pay more attention to take gym and health life.
Even though this regulation takes
some disadvantages to daily activity and public sector, Maduro believes that
the situation could be handling nicely with taking more days off in Friday to
help increasing the power supply and save from power crisis. President
Maduro said that beside some regulation that government has made, the most
important thing is also come from awareness of the local Venezuelans to reduce
the electricity usage in their daily activity. This simple act could be done by
unplug their devices, decreasing the usage of water heater and air condition,
and minimize the hair and clothes dryer because these electronics are believed
as the most electric consumed items in a household.
