Why KPI Remove "Spongebob Squarepants" From Indonesia

Everyone knows about cartoon. Especially Spongebob Squarepants. All ages from children to adult love watching cartoon. But recently, there is a news about "Indonesian Broadcasting Commission" or known as KPI, bans some cartoons aired in Indonesia. But why did KPI prohibited some cartoons airing in Indonesia. There are some categories why KPI prohibit some cartoons airing in Indonesia.

For example, physical abuse. Physical abuse like strangling, punching, grabbing, kicking, stabbing, and beating are violence. But for some people those violence are not real at all. Those violence only happens in motion from moving drawings. If some cartoons are prohibited airing, so why "Sinetron" are also not. The Sinetron or Soap Opera are real. Although the story line are not real, but the actor/actress were real. And what they were doing is also real.

Dangerous scene. The scene from cartoons maybe look like dangerous, but in the end those scene were not real at all. But the soap opera scene are real. The actor/actress are practicing their role before playing the scene. But KPI thinks the dangerous scene from cartoons are bad for people. It is true dangerous scene are bad for people, but not in cartoons. 

Negative nature. The negative nature like emotional, greedy, stingy, vengeful, envious, lazy, and ignorant are true bad for people. But those nature in cartoons were human made. But in real life, those nature are real. Those were the bad side of humans nature. 

Maybe true those categories like physical abuse, dangerous scene, and negative nature are bad for people. Because those categories are real. In real life they were real. But in cartoons, they are not. They were human made. In cartoons those categories was selected for the needs of the cartoons character nature. As people, educated people, we can process what is real thing or not. The cartoons are not real things. They were not even living creature. But cartoons can make people laugh, happy, entertain the viewers without hurting anyone. So think wisely, think what is real or not and make the right choice.
